MICHELLE GIGANTE, DIRECTOR
Michelle Gigante began her journey into yoga for healing purposes. She quickly realized the powerful effects yoga had on her. Yoga instantly became part of her life. Yoga changed her life.
Michelle is no stranger to the physical. She has been expressing herself through movement since childhood. She is a trained modern and ethnic dancer. She is also skilled in the Chinese healing-art form of Qigong. These physical disciplines have contributed to Michelle’s gift for teaching yoga.
As an instructor, Michelle promotes freedom of movement, clarity of mind and awakening of spirit. A typical class with Michelle is playful and spontaneous. Chanting, meditation and pranayama are always incorporated. The steady pace of her class creates a constant flow of energy. The power of breath is always present.
Michelle has been fortunate enough to study with some of the yoga greats such as Sharon Gannon and David Life (Jivamukti), John Friend (Anusara), Shiva Rae (Vinyasa), Saul David Raye (Vinyasa), Erich Shiffmann (Vinyasa), Bryan Kest (Power Yoga), Richard Freeman (Ashtanga), David Swenson (Ashtanga), Manju Jois (Ashtanga), Dharma Mittra (Hatha) and Jai Uttal (Bhakti).
Through their brilliant guidance and her own insight Michelle has developed a teaching style that embodies what she considers valuable and holds dear: energy and spirit.
